Seattle Park(ing) Day 2014

September 26, 2014

Free Bagels. Free Books. Comfy Chairs. Schemata Workshop joined the community again this year in what was Seattle's biggest Park(ing) Day ever. Partnering with Eltana Bagels, Elliott Bay Book Company, and Ragen & Associates, Schemata was one of 50 parks around the city on September 19th.

In addition to the books and the bagels, the park had an interactive community opinion exercise in which people created a garland around the space by adding strips of paper with one thing they love about the neighborhood. Responses ranged from the predictable "Free Bagel Opportunities!" to the much appreciated "Nice People".

This was Schemata's fifth time participating in Seattle Park(ing) Day. In years past the parks have had everything from bees to hay bales to visiting pre-school classes. Be sure to watch for us on next years Park(ing) map. Our temporary office location may bring with it new partners and new park surprises.
